A true Renaissance Woman and life-time-learner, Janice’s interests and involvements have included the arts, historical associations, youth programs, interpreting for the deaf, community activities and numerous church ministries.
Janice graduated from Baylor University in 1969 with a degree in mathematics and secondary education. She earned a Masters in Library Science from the University of North Texas in 1983. Married for over 47 years, mother of two grown children, and a grandmother of four, Janice has worked as a teacher, tax accountant, seamstress, free-lance writer, Dallas Morning News opinion columnist, radio book reviewer, as well as a speaker and oral book performer. For nineteen years, she served as the Director of the Media Library of the First Baptist Church of McKinney.
For over thirty years, Janice has traveled overseas one or more times each year with her church to live and work for two weeks with Christians from partnering churches. This volunteer mission work has taken her to six continents and hundreds of congregations where she has been both a participant and a learner. Most recently, Janice and husband Jerry have been serving as area coordinators for the countries of Western Europe with International Commission.
